Lotte Co., Ltd. is a global conglomerate headquartered in Japan and South Korea. It was founded by Shin Kyuk-Ho in Tokyo in June 1948. He then expanded the company and brought it to his home country in South Korea and created the Lotte Confectionery in 1967.
Being a conglomerate, Lotte is currently holding 60 different businesses with 60,000 employees overall. These businesses have very diverse natures including fast food, financial services, retail, hotels, candy manufacturing, beverages, electronics, IT, publishing, entertainment, heavy chemicals, and construction.

Major operations of Lotte are scattered in Japan and Korea and has smaller units in UK, Russia, Philippines, Pakistan, Poland, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, and the USA.
Lotte is widely known for their confectionary amongst their other businesses. They currently have various production plants in South Korea particularly in Seoul, Daejeon, Yangsan, Pyeongtaek and Siheung.
